Why Choose Organic?
Eating organic is so important for my family and I. Knowing that my kids are not ingesting chemicals, pesticides and hormones through their food is paramount to me. Not only are we eating foods that are free of chemicals but the produce we eat tastes better and we are supporting organic farmers who play a HUGE and extremely important role in our agriculture industry.
Food is medicine
I wholeheartedly believe that ‘Food is Medicine’ and Nutrition is the backbone to good health. “Food is Medicine” is a term which was originally coined by Hippocrates, and it was his belief that eating wholesome food is the basis for good health. “Leave your drugs in the chemist’s pot if you can heal the patient with food.”
Opt for preservative free
Learn how to shop for the best preservative free foods for your family, and how to make your pantry items from scratch. Its easier than you think!
If you do buy packaged food learn to read labels and ALWAYS read the ingredients list. The way I look at it is like this, the message on the front of the packet is the marketing or the advertisement. The message on the back is the documentary, the facts! Always read the facts and pay no attention to the message on the front of the pack.
What are the benefits?
Fermented foods contain beneficial bacteria which are fantastic for gut health. Some wonderful and delicious fermented foods that can easily be added into yours and your child’s diet are: Natural Yogurt or Kefir, Saurkraut (fermented cabbage) or Kimchi and Kombucha (fermented green tea, usually naturally flavoured with fruit)

Cut out the process ‘foods’.
Clear the pantry of all those ‘foods’ that will only tempt you to reach for when times get tough.
Eat what they eat, and eat together.
Family meal time is hugely important, it shows your child how you eat, and gives much needed family time together. Eat the same meal, share yours even, but don’t cook separate ‘kids’ meals.
Cut Back on Snacks.
Feed them nourishing meals throughout the day and cut back on snacks. That way, you won’t have to worry if they fail to eat their whole plate at dinner, as you will know they have had a healthy well nourished day!
